IJIMP is a duo featuring Carl Rathus on shakuhachi and Ravikesh Singh on tabla. The compositions that IJIMP perform are based around Japanese folk songs and Indian ragas. The duo has recently recorded an album in India in collaboration with Anand Mishra on sitar, Shantawana Mishra on vocals and Shibu Mishra on sarangi. The music was created and directed by the great tabla Maestro Pt. Ishwar Lal Mishra who has performed and collaborated on many projects with Late Pt. Ravi Shankar, Late Ustad Aliakbar Khan, Late Pt.Nikhil Benerjee, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Ustad Rais Khan.
